Since the recent announcement, reports have claimed that Iran’s dollar plan could risk the country’s leaders falling victim to US vengeance. The US is reportedly already preparing for any potential conflict with Iran, and has even introduced H.J.Res.10 – Authorization of Use of Force Against Iran Resolution. This was introduced last month without any media attention, despite it authorizing “the President to use the US Armed forces as necessary in order to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons”.
Similar countries have attempted Iran’s plan in the past, but these have only resulted in bad consequences, including being invaded by the US. TFTP’s Jay Syrmopoulos reported last month that NATO’s involvement in Libya, “was not for the protection of the people, but instead it was to thwart Gaddafi’s attempt to create a gold-backed African currency to compete with the Western central banking monopoly.” He claimed that the involvement of the USA in Libya’s affairs was driven by the desire to gain their oil supplies.
In the past, Muammar Gaddafi, Saddam Hussein, and Bashar Al-Assad have all tried to move away from using the dollar by replacing it with the use of another currency, but this has resulted in the destruction of all three countries. President Trump has said that he may choose to pursue a more diplomatic solution, although there is no evidence of that yet.
