Mesa, AZ Streets Shut Down By Protesters After Police Brutally Beat Unarmed Man For Jaywalking – Anti Media News

About 40 protesters successfully shut down several streets in Mesa, AZ Thursday, as they march against police brutality after video surfaced of police officers brutally beating a man for jay walking.

The cell phone video shows the arrest of Jason Michael Barton, with two Mesa officers beating Barton while they say he was resisting arrest, reported 12 News.

Protest organizer and activist Jarrett Maupin accurately noted, “That video didn’t show intimidation. That video showed predatory behavior.”

Maupin demanded the 2 officers be fired for their actions. Others at the march said they want increased drug testing for police and the “end to future police brutality.”

“And then they can worry about training the rest of these loose cannons in their department and see if they’re fit to do their job,” Maupin said.

Gregg Girard, a former police officer also showed up to protest the protest while holding an arrow shaped sign (pointing at the protesters) saying, “idiots.”

Girard, a white male, proves he has no idea what it is like to be harassed by law enforcement. He also showed his support for police brutality against anyone who does not obey every command by police.

“A lot of people just don’t understand the circumstances of an arrest,” Girard said. “All they want him to do is obey their instructions. When a guy resists, what is a police officer supposed to do?”

As expected, Mesa PD will be conducting their own internal investigation, but Maupin does not expect any actual results from a department investigating themselves.

“I don’t care what comes from their investigation because police shouldn’t be investigating themselves,” Maupin yelled.
